en cuanto al tema que nos atañe, mira si está muerto el rock, que la mamarrachada que hicieron en los grammys con el "homenaje" a Eddie Van Halen, Nuno Bettancourt lo resumió muy bien;
"
I’m coming at you today NOT as a guitarist or a musician.
But instead a lifetime mega fan of Pop, R&B, Rock, Funk and Hip Hop, from Prince to Black Sabbath.
And knowing how music is the soundtrack to our lives, Im sad and disappointed with my industry, specifically an institution that we as artists revere as a holy grail achievement.
You would think, considering his impact on Rock and Roll, that the Grammy’s would have given the Legacy of Edward Van Halen more than 15 seconds of a humiliating live clip that ended in a flat note.
Not only was the clip disrespectful, but to not get a tribute performance from his legendary guitar piers is shameful and a missed historical opportunity.
Why?
Not just because of his Iconic band Van Halen, but Edward single handidly, or should we say double handidly, reimagined, reinvented and changed the way the instrument would ever be played or heard, ever again.
He took what only a few Icons before him like , Berry, Hendrix, Page and May did and like an advanced alien species from the future, shocked the world and sent guitar playing into the stratosphere with a perfect balance of technique, soul and creativity that not even the icons I mentioned before him couldnt have dreamed up.
And even more astounding, his innovation continuously out did the last with album after album after album making our jaws drop... all with a big SMILE on his face.
Like Jordon with basketball, Edward would change how guitar would be played forever.
On last nights broadcast It should have been the worlds greatest current guitarists up on that stage performing a medley-tribute of EVHs’ greatest moments And Imagine the finale where the end the medley ALL PLAYING TOGETHER the guitar solo that got him that Jordan-Esque Global recognition.
THE solo that Edward threw down for another King... of Pop.
BEAT IT.
At the very least If the grammy’s didn’t want to waste air time on rock and roll they could have taken advantage of Michael Jacksons name and had Bruno Mars sing BEAT IT with an iconic guitarist ripping the solo.
ANYTHING other than those 15 seconds of Eddie they callously through on there.
of last nights thoughts on EVH at the Grammy’s. Cause it’s my page

and i’ll do as 1 please.
But honestly...
The writing has been on the wall for decades.
But it wasn’t until last night and it hit hard...that rock and roll has been forgotten and left behind.
Not by its fans, thankfully. Or the artists keeping it alive and well.
But definitely in our main stream music industry of Auto Tune driven Vocals and pushing buttons chosen over actual musicians playing instruments.
Look there are great young bands coming and some great bands still Rocking.
Rock Is not dead, And will NEVER die, but it’s respect is hanging by a thread.
And for what Rock and Roll did for nearly a century to get us here to all these different genres... it deserves just a little more respect and has earned the right to be celebrated at the Grammy’s.
But who’s gives a fuck what I think.
Either way... see you at the next Rock concert!!!!!"
