Recientemente, mi amigo y mentor Peter Mac ha publicado una intervención en el Tokaiforum sobre cómo modificar la electrónica de las antiguas LS/LC que traían de serie una placa dónde venía todo conectado. como venía de fábrica con el cableado moderno, Peter propone esta solución para obtener el de los 50.
El procedimiento a seguir es el siguiente:
Firstly
looking at the pots with the lugs facing South I would number them (L-R) V1, V2 and V3 for
Volume pot and T1, T2 and T3 for the
Tone Pot.
1) Make sure ALL
pots are on '0' - completely OFF before you solder.
2) CAREFULLY remover the original Capacitors from their channels.
3) Heat
T3 lug, remove ground wire and solder onto the T2 lug. Neck T3 will also have Jack ground wire attached.
4) Place new capacitor
between V2 and T3 lugs, measure and cut off excess wire.
I would recommend using Orange Drop caps as they are easier to work with and come in 0.015, 0.022 and 0.047mf ranges and they sound good.
5) Heat the solder on
T3, insert one end of the cap and hold till cool then heat V2 and insert the other end of the cap and hold till cool.
6) Solder the Ground wire for the Jack onto the back of the Neck Tone pot - the bare wire coming the Grey casing that was also connected to Neck Tone pot
T3.

Nota: Hay modelos dónde los potes son de 250K, ojo con eso.
Nota 2: No todos los potes originales son logarítmicos, los hay también lineales.
