Gorgeous Firebird Red Gretsch Duo Jet, special signature model of Elliott Easton of the Cars. Made in Japan.

This signature model has many important improvements over the standard Duo Jet:

Tune-o-matic bridge
hybrid 25" scale length (inbetween Fender and Gibson/Gretsch)
B7 Bigsby
Plus all the usual wooden beauty: chambered mahogany body, maple neck, lovely ebony fingerboard.

Possibly thanks to the tweaks in this signature model, this guitar sustains very well and stays in tune just fine when using the Bigsby.

The front is is beautiful condition. The back has a few marks from the previous owners' belt. The contrast of the close up photos make it look far worse than it appears. (The last two photos are closer to how it appears when looking at the guitar.)

The alnico Filtertrons sound fantastic! Lots of bright chime.
