"The Bartolini PBF-55 is a moderate output humbucker neck pickup that is well suited for both Jazz and Rock. The PBF-55 provides the same focused lows of the PBF-49 Vintage pickup, but with a softer, more rounded, warmer, more diffuse attack. Highly recommended for Jazz and Jazz/Rock applications, or for smoothing out the harshness of some heavier solid bodies.
The PBF-55 is commonly used in the neck position with a PBF-57 in the bridge for jazz, or with a PBF-77D in the bridge for rock. Rock or Jazz tone: creamy smooth treble, excellent mids, crisply defined bass response".
